Giovanni Vulpetti
Giovanni Vulpetti received his Ph.D. in Plasma Physics in 1973. He has spent much of his professional life studying the concepts underlying interstellar flight, Astrodynamics, and space propulsion, and in particular matter-antimatter annihilation propulsion. Since 1992 he has been involving in solar-photon sailing. In 2001, he served as a consultant at NASA/MSFC for the Interstellar Probe project. He published 115 scientific papers, and one co-authored popular book (2008) on solar sails. To be published in 2012, he is author of a scientific book (2012) on the Astrodynamics of solar sailing. Since 1994, he is a Full Member of the International Academy of Astronautics.
